We are a team of passionate students dedicated to bridging the gap between innovation and sustanibilibilty. Whether you're a returner or a first timer, our team is here to support you throughout our weekend event as we tackle climate extremes together. Thank you for your participation in our mission!
The 7th Annual GreenHacks Innovation Challenge will take place in person Friday and Saturday (February 20-21) at the Bloomberg Student Center (3290 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21218) on and Sunday (February 22) at the Scotts-Bates Commons (3301 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21218).Â
After the opening ceremony on Friday evening, teams of 4-5 people will start working on their projects that address a specific topic area under the overall theme until submission and judging on Sunday morning. Although this event spans three days, it is NOT AN OVERNIGHT EVENT. You do not need to have a team formed to participate in this event! We will have a team formation portion of our event in which you can form teams with other participants. However, if you do have a group, you can submit names of your team members when the team formation form opens.
There will be a keynote speaker during the opening ceremony and additional speakers/workshops on Saturday.Â
Our teams are split up into 3 tracks under the theme of Reframing Natural Disasters: Innovating Against Climate Extremes.
By the end of the event, participants will present a 7-minute proposal for their original idea to address an issue under these topic areas. They will be judged onÂ
(1) innovation/originality,Â
(2) environmental and social impact,Â
(3) viability and practicality, andÂ
(4) their presentation.
